HDPE Bio Block is a modular structured biological filter medium made of virgin High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). It is assembled by thermally welded mesh plastic tubes into solid cubic blocks. As a fixed biofilm carrier, it supplies massive living space for beneficial microorganisms to degrade water pollutants in all water treatment and aquaculture systems.
1. Material Property

Strong corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance, salt resistance: resistant to domestic sewage, chemical wastewater, seawater aquaculture water bodies, and not degraded by acid, alkali, salt, or microorganisms;

Anti UV and anti-aging: add anti UV additives, the outdoor pool and surface filter can be used stably for more than 20 years, and are not prone to embrittlement and cracking;

Non toxic food grade: native HDPE without plasticizers, safe pre-treatment of aquatic, landscape, and drinking water without secondary pollution;

Lightweight, high-strength, self-supporting: The module has a light weight and can be stacked without the need for brackets. It can be directly stepped on for construction and will not deform under long-term water flow impact.

Ultra high specific surface area: Mesh hollow network tube+rough outer wall, specific surface area can reach 150-300 ㎡/m ³, greatly improving microbial adhesion;

Ultra high porosity, breathable and water permeable: Through type three-dimensional pores, oxygen is fully transferred to the biofilm during aeration, significantly improving nitrification efficiency;

Self cleaning and anti clogging: Aging and shedding biofilm fragments can freely pass through the pipe network with water flow, without sludge accumulation or frequent backwashing;

Modular assembly: Standard block units that can be freely cut and stacked, suitable for any size of biochemical tanks, filtration boxes, and drip filtration towers;

Multi layer three-dimensional membrane hanging: dual membrane hanging inside and outside the tube, synchronously completing aerobic nitrification, local anoxic denitrification, and synchronously removing ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen COD.

Working Principle
Bio Block is a porous biological carrier that works based on biofilm technology to purify water.

Biofilm Attachment
The porous structure and large surface area of Bio Block provide an ideal habitat for beneficial microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria, denitrifying bacteria and heterotrophic bacteria to attach and grow, forming a thin and active layer called biofilm.

Adsorption and Degradation
As contaminated water flows through the Bio Block, organic matter, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite and other pollutants are adsorbed by the biofilm. Microbes in the biofilm decompose these harmful substances through metabolism.

- Heterotrophic bacteria break down organic pollutants, reducing COD and BOD.
- Nitrifying bacteria convert toxic ammonia and nitrite into nitrate.
