Plastic Super Intalox Saddle Ring is a type of plastic random tower packing, evolved from the traditional Intalox saddle. It combines the advantages of saddle-shaped and ring-shaped structures, widely used in mass transfer and heat transfer towers for gas-liquid contact processes.

Plastic supper saddle rings belong to saddle shaped asymmetric curved fillers, which have a saddle shape as a whole, but not a symmetrical arc. They are between traditional rectangular saddle rings and ball rings, with a flatter arc surface, larger openings, toothed edges, no sharp edges, low fluid resistance, and are not easily blocked by bridging. Belonging to the special chaotic packing for gas-liquid contact, it is used for absorption, desorption, washing, cooling, extraction, and dust removal in various packing towers.


Structural design features



  • Serrated wave edge
The ordinary saddle ring is a smooth arc, and the edges of this product are serrated/scalloped with ripples. When packing is stacked, there will be no nested bridging, resulting in a significant increase in porosity and more gas-liquid flow channels.
  • Hollow perforated saddle body
The saddle body is equipped with 2-4 large holes, allowing gas to penetrate in both directions and liquid to spread along the inner and outer walls in both directions, resulting in a larger effective wetting area.
  • Hyperbolic asymmetric saddle shape
Breaking the symmetrical structure, the gaps in the packing layer are evenly distributed after random loading, and the problems of liquid deviation and channel flow are significantly improved, with lower requirements for liquid distributors.




    Advantages & Features



  • Low voltage drop, high flux: High porosity, low airflow resistance, high flood point load, and processing capacity of 15% to 25% higher than ordinary saddle rings and plastic ball rings under the same tower diameter.
  • High mass transfer efficiency: The gas-liquid contact area is large, the liquid holding capacity is moderate, the height of the mass transfer unit (HTU) is lower, and the absorption/washing purification effect is better.
  • Corrosion resistant and lightweight: Mainstream materials PP/RPC/PVC/CPVC/PVDF, resistant to most acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents; The ceramic/metal packing has a much lighter weight, reducing the load-bearing capacity of the tower.
  • Not easy to block and resistant to scaling: The curved smooth surface is not easily adhered to by dust and viscous media, making it suitable for dirty working conditions such as exhaust gas washing and sewage desulfurization.
